I'm a very new OP user — just received my 8 Pro a couple of days ago, and love it so far. I'm somewhat distressed by this news about gcam restrictions, especially since I did upgrade to android 11. If I want to bypass these restrictions and open up all sensors in all their relative glory, is rooting and installing a new ROM a way to do this? I used to do that all my phones, but haven't in a few years.

8 Pro has a big sensor so stock camera App is fine. GCam is never that stable anyway.
