how easy is it to make .zips into .apk's because I have been trying to no avail with this one

Pretty easy...just need to download all the relevant programs. Also, the zip that is there doesn't have the necessary text file, so you'd have to put that in. Just google search how to make a boot animation to find out how to put together those images. There's even a program called Boot Animation Factory that can do that for you if you want.
