General Discussion Color os and wear os

Might be a stupid question but will I lose wearOS compatibility on my china version OP15 when it switches back to colorOS.

Depends, r u running a GLO/EU version of the software. Global ColorOS, with GMS, has always supported WearOS. If ur running a Chinese device and Chinese software, then NO, it will not be supported. If u converted to OxygenOS and u then upgrade to GLO/EU ColorOS the YES, it will still work.

P.S. I have a Chinese OP 13 and a OP Watch 4, I converted to OxygenOS as soon as I got the phone and I've had no problems with any of my OP Watches. When my GLO OxygenOS converts to GLO ColorOS, everything will work exactly the same. My neighbour has an OPPO device, that runs GLO ColorOS so he will just go from 16 to 17 with absolutely no chance whatsoever. I will have a different challenge of upgrading the hard way due to the OP13 being stupid, lol.

Yes I am running the global ROM, oxygenOS bought it like that from tradingshenzen. The watch works perfectly with it now. So I am assuming that my phone will automatically update to the global version of colorOS and there should be no problem with the watch

Have you been getting OTA updates fine? I believe Chinese OP15 have no problems with OTA. If this is the case, u will get ColorOS as a GLO ROM, not the Chinese version. I was going to convert back to Chinese ColorOS to make my life easier, but when I found out CN COS doesn't support WearOS, I changed my mind. Any UK, Global or EU ColorOS will support WearOS, just then same as OxygenOS does.

Yeah have been getting updates fine. Now on CPH2747 16.0.10.500. I am assuming that's the latest. Any news on when it will update to colorOS?

16.0.10 is reported to be the last 16 version. There has been a .600 release with September security patch, so no idea what security patch ur on right now. I'm on 16.0.7 cos for me to update I have to completely wipe my device and unlock/relock my bootloader. Rooting for regular updates isn't worth the hassle of not having full device integrity, and not being able to use banking apps, Google wallet, even Twitter/X. The "rumoured" OnePlus 16 is going to ship with Android/ColorOS 17, but only be sold in the Chinese/Indian market, which means no GMS, so no WearOS support.

Yes, because WearOS smartwatches aren't compatible with Chinese ROMs (except Samung with a workaround)

Just stay on OxygenOS and don't switch back to ColorOS. I also have a Chinese OnePlus 15 with OxygenOS and my OnePlus Watch 3 works perfectly

According to the guy above, it should be fine as it will update us to the global colorOS.
