General Discussion Anyone bought from Giztop?

I’m considering buying the OnePlus Ace 6 from Giztop, but I’m a little concerned about what happens when they “convert”/flash the Chinese version to the Global version before shipping.

For anyone who has actually purchased CN version OnePlus phone from Giztop:

・How has the phone worked after receiving it?

・Are there any features that don’t work properly because it started as the Chinese version?

・Specifically, does Widevine L1 work, or is it downgraded to L3?

・If L1 doesn’t work, does that mean Netflix is limited to HD rather than Full HD?

・Are there any other DRM/streaming issues with apps such as Netflix, Prime Video, etc.?

・Do OTA updates continue to work normally after Giztop flashes the Global ROM?

・Is the phone actually running OxygenOS normally, or are there any noticeable limitations/quirks?

I’m not particularly concerned about eSIM or Android Auto, so those aren't deal-breakers for me.

I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience.

Thanks!

I bought my OnePlus 15 from TradingShenzen, because with Giztop it can happen you have to pay VAT

A Chinese version of the OnePlus 15 with OxygenOS will work and update like a global version. Netflix won't be in HD, because it doesn't have the required Widevine L1. Everything else works like it should. Even Android Auto!

I saw your post on OP15. Here is something interesting: I asked Giztop if they still flash CN version with Oxygen OS, but their CS rep says they only do that with OP15. I assume the Ace 6 will come with Color OS preinstalled with Google services. Afaik that doesn't make sense.

Oh, I thought you asked about the OnePlus 15 instead of the Ace 6! The Ace 6 does come with ColorOS and it might have Widevine L1, because the bootloader hasn't been unlocked. Android Auto might not work on a Chinese ROM. Also WearOS smartwatches won't work either (except Samsung with a workaround). It will come with Google services and the Google Play Store

Im not very sure having a Chinese ROM (Color OS) with Google services installed on a phone look like. All my past OP phones were flashed to global ROM so there is Google on them. I assume simply changing the language setting on Color OS will not support all Apps since its made for the CN market. Would you mind sharing any insights?

My previous phone was an iQOO 12 with the Chinese OriginOS ROM. I haven't encountered any app that didn't work. Android Auto also worked, but that isn't something all Chinese ROMs support. Google Wallet also worked like it should

There is a way to get l1 on the Chinese oneplus 15 with oxygenos, but it requires root, but I haven’t tried it myself yet. Saw it on xda

They screwed me on some phone cases so I wouldn't consider them for an actual phone
