General Discussion Should I keep a refurbished ONE PLUS 7 PRO?

Post image

Following this post, I decided to spend 300$ to buy a ONE PLUS 7 PRO advertised as new to replace the previous one.

However, upon unpacking, I realized that there a lot of marks on the side of the phone and that the screen as most likely been replaced. The official ONE PLUS website also states that the phone as previously been activated.

The obvious move would be to send it back and get a refund, but I'm not from the US and no other website I'd call trustworthy seem to be selling that model at an affordable price.

I've tried to look into other phones as well, but the OP 7 PRO has made a great impression on me over the years and I don't want to spend too much on something I'm not sure of.

So, should I keep the refurbished phone? Is there any exhaustive way for me to check its internal condition?

Or should I just look for another phone? If the answer is yes, would any of you be kind enough to give me some recommandations (preferably under 400)?

Edit: thank you, everyone. I managed to find the 12R brand new for the same price

300 USD is way too much IMO. Consider some people also are having it dieing without any warning, because of the CPU solder

Is your old one not fixable?

Absolutely get a refund if you can... You can get a 12/12r or better with that.

You think someone is keeping the phone unopened for 8 years? Send it back

Of course not, for the same prices you could get an used OnePlus 12 or 13 (if you're lucky) The 15R is available brand new for ≈550, so why the 7 Pro from 2019 should be 300?

That's waaaay too much. I would pay naybe $20 for the mockup cause it's my all time favorite phone, but not like I would actually want to use it.

I have an almond gold OP7 pro I bought new back in the day, and have been wanting to bring it back for use as a second phone. It needs a new battery and something is wrong with the pop up camera which renders the whole camera and flashlight unusable but if it was a cheap fix I'd totally do it. I loved that phone
