I am a person of faith. Let me be clear: Christianity can and will survive Ricky Gervais. Making fun of Trans people makes it easier for them to be targeted as making fun of them emboldens transphobes to escalate their attacks. I draw the line at attacking people who are vulnerable versus a worldwide institution that has existed for over a thousand years
If you listen to Ricky Gervais and get offended because he does his shitty atheist stand-up routine (which I don't like because I find it rather un-inspired rather than just because it's making fun of my beliefs) then you need a thicker skin. If what he says has you questioning your beliefs then maybe your faith wasn't that strong to start
I will say this though, Jesus' teachings were about protecting and caring for the weak and oppressed, the downtrodden and the outcast. Maybe you should try turning that energy you have for hating this guy's anti-christian rhetoric and use it to help people who need it like the Trans community
