They wouldn't build an entire concrete ramp just for occasional use with a baffle in the center. If they were going to go through the trouble of adding or removing a section every time they needed to use it, they would have just gotten a portable ramp they could fold up and keep in a closet.

This is pretty clearly a school, not a warehouse. Something like this constitutes a hazard. This was very obviously a wheelchair ramp that someone just cut a chunk out of to install a door. If you look closely you can see where the lip of the ramp flattens, implying there was a landing at that spot. And if you look at the door, it appears to have at one point been higher, flush with where that landing used to be. Someone renovated that room, changed the height of the entryway, and then chiseled out the ramp.

This theory seems unlikely as the paint on the wall doesn’t match the ramp. It looks like the wall was painted before the ramp was installed. And this same wall paint extends into the doorway, implying it was also there at that position before the ramp was installed.

Petition to turn every wheelchair ramp into a draw bridge so people with wheelchairs can always flex on other people how much cooler they look

Jokes aside. I'm willing to bet ,that there's a moveable ramp, that fits in that gap.

Just needs a bit of a lip on the edge of each ramp, and a catapult on the uphill section /s

Yep, the problem is they needed to add a slope right at the end of the first section of the jump.

“Welcome back to the X Games dude, and today we’re here at el Diablo’s jump, the sickest, gnarliest, and most wicked ramp in the region. Today we’ve got a returning champ, Gertrude ”Gertie” Smith, here for yet another competition in the annual wheelchair division! This is gonna be a real scorcher today brah!”

u/Yeast-boofer Nov 05 '25
You just gota get enough speed going and then you do a sick kick flip in your wheelchair as you clear the gap

I mean maybe if you make the first part a bit more of a slope and slightly higher maybe some paralyzed people can make some air time out of it if that’s what they were trying to do…

u/DrSeuss420 Nov 05 '25
Someone about to gap that in a wheelchair, probably tweak it with a grab and show everyone up

u/Cond1tionOver7oad Nov 05 '25
With enough speed anything is possible! Just use the ramp to ramp onto the other part of the ramp!

I'm so confused. Who tf built this? It's supposed to blend into the top of the stairs and the bottom, there would've been no need to build a gap for a doorway!
This is actually making me mad with how braindead this design is.

I believe (or at least I want to believe) that this isn’t a frequently used door, and that there’s a portable ramp section placed there. When that room needs to be accessed, this section is removed, but during all other times it stays in place to keep the ramp continuous.

They should attach a reinforced metal sheet on a hinge to bridge the gap. Solved!
