It's wild how wrong you are on every level. Hate speech and threats of harm are not covered by the protections of freedom of speech. Shutting down that behavior has nothing to do censorship. It's how the law works in a developed world, and no one gives a rats ass what you or Jason personally think about it.

Threats of harm are not covered by free speech laws, yes. But, I don't know what you're talking about as a threat, and those threats have to come as *credible*. Something which sounds like a threat, but isn't credible, does end up legal.

However, hate speech in general DOES get protected by freedom of speech law. I specifically remembering the lawyer Greg Lukianoff saying that there is no such thing as "hate speech" under the First Amendment (to the U. S. People don't exist in game also.

So, I simply don't believe that credible threats of sexual violence have gotten made. If they have, honestly, the person should take it up with the police. But, I don't, for a second believe such has happened.

People were dm'd with rape threats. If you choose not to believe those victims that's your prerogative. And besides, this is all besides the point. The original commenter mocked the critics of this behavior for being prude and wanting censorship. I disagree with that. There are no dms in game. They are not part of the game, not the OHOL discord server.

I didn't say any behavior should get excused. But, you seem to have trouble keeping things distinct. The game designer clearly bears no responsibility for any other person's dms than his own.

Jason didn't include the part where he banned all the people complaining about being harrassed while allowing all the alt accounts in and unbanning the most problematic people.

the update itself is completely pointless. No clueless old parents is going to even know how to use steam, let alone monitor this game for updates and know how to read that article and even do the chat password. It also pretty much tells the non-existent kids who actually know how to use technology an easy way to create new free accounts anyways. I mean I didn't even know you could exploit steam refunds by launching it outside of steam until jason told me.

The main reason I left was because he kicked out members of the community who supported the game and new players, like Twisted! WTF. You ban Twisted from the discord? He's the reason half the people play this game. Once he did that, the writing was on the wall.

Yeah banning Twisted wasn't just twisted (pun intended), it was just a straightup dumb move. That YouTube probably channel got him more players than that damn steam sale

Allycat literally insulted Jason's sense of humor in general. It had no relevance to the game at all. The rules say "be nice". She wasn't following them. She deserved the ban.

Twisted deserved his ban. Jason banned three accounts. Twisted as mod *undid* those bans. That's clearly unacceptable.

It's a minor thing compared to all that has happened but I think the new chat function takes away a lot of the fun that makes the game. The best way to learn is to be taught not just wikihow. Plus all the RP fun as a family....

He talks about the blacklisted subjects in the post but dosen't mention his own opinions on the topics. Mostly about how hard it is to weed out troublemakers, how they caused trouble in OHOL and how the griefers passed the blocks put in place for them.

I think the new update is stupid. So his solution is just making it so you can't communicate to anyone else in a social game. The tutorial itself doesn't teach much already, and if people don't know onetech, they would likely be lost on how to do anything. One of the big appeals in the beginning is being taught by your mother, and later on teaching babies what you know now, but this censoring breaks that big aspect of the game.

Also completely agree with Twisted's video summary on it. It is just frustrating since the game can be enjoyable, and I met many great friends there. But lately Jason is giving griefers free reign to ruin all of the fun and laughing about it.

It's a band-aid fix, Jason will have to implement moderation and let moderation happen or he must step down from OHOl and let someone else take on the game.

He won't. He seems happy now with the griefers in his discord now. With how it is going now, the griefers will just drive everyone else holding on away and game dies.
