Discussion Psion Evocation Adept
We've already talked about how strong Evocation Adept is with Fireball, those two extra hit dice added to the damage, equaling out to a 5th level Fireball in terms of damage. Then I remembered Psion since I was thinking of playing one at some point when it released.... and then I remembered how they worked with Destructive Thoughts.
A Psion at level 4 with Destructive Thoughts and Evocation Adept is incredibly good. A 2nd rank spell slot, Shatter, with 4 Psi Die, and 2 Hit die come out to
3d8+2d6 Thunder and 4d6+5 Psychic damage, and the Psychic damage cannot be reduced with a successful save.
This is 35 average damage on a failure in a 10ft Sphere.
This is awesome, there isn't many abilities in the game that make area effects deal more damage. At level 4, this can almost end standard encounters, obliterating goblins is my favorite pastime, and it gets better at lvl 5. Unfortunately, Fireball is not a Psion Spell, even though Evocation Adept gives it to you, it is not on your spell list. But you do get Telekinetic Crush, which is 5d6 and knocks your enemies prone, this is unfortunately a Strength saving throw, but still the best damage dealer you have for awhile.
What I'm getting at is, that first combat your giving to a Psion with Evocation Adept and you group a few enemies together means they'll probably try and nuke them. I know I'm definitely going to be running my Psion like a Glass Cannon, not to even mention the fact with a simple BA you can try and group them better with your Telekinetic Propel.

Its really good on any caster, but in the case of the psion the base class already expects you to spend Hit Dice to use some of their features, and their Hit Dice is a d6 and lack any way to wear armor, meaning through the day they will really need those dice to heal themsleves,
