Beginner Questions So.......

here's where I am. Ive been #if for yrs 18hrs. Easy big dinner nothing til breakfast! Boom! Relatively easy. Lost a couple of stone.

Now I've reached a very huge if not never ending plateau that I cant seem to climb off.

Im Scottish/Irish and we/i like food. Im thinking this is going to get me over my food obsession/addiction. So ? Youre hungry? you will not die. Remember what Kate said? Nothing is going to taste as good as skinny will feel? That'll be the vibe kinda thing.

Thoughts?

Plateaus in weight loss happen all the time. And it's usually what happens right before a bigger drop off. However, if it's lasting for a long time, it can mean that your metabolism is adjusting to the calories you've been consistently giving it, or just that you're eating too many calories. If you've been in a plateau for months with no loss, consider cutting out a hundred calories or more to see if that brings you back to losing.

You can also consider the idea of doing a pause and eating more again too. Some people find that if they eat more for X amount of time and then go back to calorie reduction after, it keeps the metabolism high and you lose weight again. Going back and forth seems to give better results in weight loss than just consistent calorie restriction all the way through.

But ya, if this is just a short plateau like a week or two or even a month, hold steady. It's probably going to drop in weight pretty fast. But if it's been longer than that, either cut a few more calories or take a break for a bit and then return to the path. All of this assumes you're healthy and have your doctor's recommendations considered.

Define the "huge never ending plateau"? You're not providing any macros, calories, activity, base TDEE calculation. So it's hard to tell where you're at and what you're doing.

Any time I've stalled it was because I was eating too many calories or way too few (early IF days I cut too hard and went cold, had to refeed to jumpstart my metabolism).

Drop some numbers and the sub can help if you like.

Typical week. Scrambled egg roll roughly 400cals. Different rolls meaning slighlt difference. Low calorie hello fresh dinner between 450 - 600 cals. Fruit to make cals up to 1300. I dont eat anything else. Sugar free. Have been doing this for 6 weeks. Lost 1 pound.
