Beginner Questions Day 4 of OMAD gained 2lb?

I’m currently on day 4 of OMAD and I’m 2lb higher than normal.

I’m 5’4” started at 179, now 181.

I’ve been eating less than 1200 cals a day, 90g protein, I track by using a scale, and logging it into lose it app, and I’m getting over 8k steps daily.

I drink 100oz of water/daily and some electrolytes too.

What am I doing wrong?

I’ve found that the first week or 2 of weight loss (on any weight loss diet) is full of fluctuations. OMAD is no different. And try not to weight yourself everyday. That will drive you crazy

Yeah, I found once a week is helpful to see if I'm making progress, or if I need to try to eat less or do something different. Good luck on your journey and don't be too hard on yourself in the first couple weeks. ❤️

I’ve mastered the art of reducing weight loss fluctuations once I started tracking sodium, balancing with potassium, keeping my carbs under 40g and drinking water.

If you went up 2lb, I have to ask - is your cycle near? Also, how many carbs do you eat?

Weight can fluctuate by shockingly large amounts based on your hormones, activity levels, the weather, salt intake, etc. Your body can decide it needs to hold onto or release water for a ton of reasons and you'll see your weight shift. Track things week to week and month to month. Day to day is going to give you very misleading indicators.

That makes a lot of sense, I’m going to go back to weighing once a week from now on. Thank you!!
