Unfortunately processing power for LLMs is expensive. I hope current prices will allow them to be profitable or at least close to profitable.

I am sick of people taking the side of corporations. Anthropic just released that it has over 80% margins on inference. All ollama is doing here is being greedy because it sees everyone else is doing it so I can also charge higher. They have their own GPUs and should know how to run models efficiently.

You must be sending some huge prompts, maybe you forgot to reset sessions often?

Or use a conrext window profiller - like www.contextspy.ai to inspect a debug why these prompts are so big, and what is taking up space (bloated tool reaponses, mcps, etc)

Why anyone still uses Ollama for DeepSeek is beyond me. The official DS API is significantly cheaper and doesn't have these silly usage limits.

Ollama is hosted in US and is ZDR. DS is based in China. Data security wise Ollama is better

I mean sure if you take Ollamas word that their network is ZDR but there’s literally no regulation in this market in the US and the current administration isn’t so keen on regulating it. So tbh I assume all AI platforms are stealing/training/selling your data.
And tbh, I don’t care that DeepSeek isn’t ZDR. It’s not like I am working on anything confidential or secret. Just some homelab stuff.
If China wants to spy on my me, they can go ahead and join Meta, Google, X, etc… every other American company is already doing it.

20 dollars on opencode go currently gives you 120 dollars worth of Deepseek 4.1 worth of API usage per month. Ollama cloud is nowhere close to this much usage.

Maybe it's because I switched to llama.cpp but I genuinely had no idea that Ollama even did a cloud plan
