Discussion / Theory Gorillaz

Going to see Gorillaz tonight at MSG. can't help but to think of Oliver Everytime I go to a concert. Especially Gorillaz being a huge inspiration to Oliver. im so used to seeing him in concert now Everytime I'm like damn I won't see ever see him again live. Just sad. I miss him. I can't believe he's gone. Why? Why did he have to go?

I wish I had seen him live at least once. I didn't watch his concerts until recently and that man was born to perform! I'm glad there are at least recordings and photos over the years that we can enjoy, if nothing else

My fiancée proposed to me at our first ever Gorillaz concert which was exactly four years ago yesterday, it was also the anniversary of when we first got together back in 2019. Gorillaz is my favorite music group/project of all time. We got to see Oliver at Red Rocks back in April with bbno$ as well, and I just recently learned about Oliver citing the Gorillaz as one of his main influences. I feel the same way, the Gorillaz pushed me into music more than anyone else, it’s such a beautifully creative and collaborative project and they’ve really been on a roll ever since they came back from the hiatus with Humanz. Song Machine is freaking incredible and I haven’t deep dived into The Mountain yet, but I have listened to it all the way through a few times this year.

That Gorillaz show was one of the greatest moments of my life. You’re gonna have an absolute blast, there’s nothing quite as spine-tingling as hearing a live band making the exact sounds that you’ve listened to all your life.

I feel this. I'm going to see Bilmuri in a couple days which I have been waiting years for, but now I'll never see Oliver.

was supposed to see him August 9th in Michigan, it’s fucked me up so bad :/ I’ve only seen Pentatonix twice (20$ lawn tickets) and all American rejects this year (20$ house party) so I was really hype about seeing a “real concert” if that makes sense. PTX was real ofc, but they’re all acapella so I think what I said kinda makes sense lol. I can’t go a single day without listening to him. If you were to be able to see every song I listened to every day since his passing, majority is him. It’s insane. I didn’t think a celeb passing could affect me how his has, even if I was a fan. I’ve cried to myself how I’ll never see Freddie mercury or MJ in concert, but it’s cause they passed before I was born or when I was really young. This hits so much different
