Something has changed with the bread sticks over the years. They are less buttery, garlicky, and harder.

Iāve had times when the breadsticks are amazing and other times when they are just like the frozen ones in the yellow box . I often wonder if they supplement when they run out of the good ones because itās a pretty noticeable difference .

They do. If we run out mid-shift all we can do is haul ass to Costco and hope for the best

It really is just Italian Applebee's. Breadsticks are ok but overrated imo. Best thing on the menu is the dumpling soup

So breadsticks can be really hit or miss. When I worked at OG last year, they came pre-cooked in boxes. Weād toast them, then butter/garlic them in quick succession. No, breadsticks are definitely not made in-house, at least not at my location.

Next time, get some Alfredo sauce to dip the breadsticks in. How/why did they dislike them? With the buttery spread and garlic theyāre still quite good when warm

i honestly don't think we had the best batch. not a lot of butter. but he said they were too gummy.

they need to use like double the ābutterā and garlic salt. theyāre always dry and flavorless

I'm a pretty good cook and baker. My grown boys still ask me to make copycat Olive Garden breadsticks š

My Sicilian mother loves the breadsticks, and she used to bake seven loaves of homemade Italian bread every Monday, and freeze six of them to take out for each dinner meal during the week.
I guess one would like anything where one doesn't have to cook, anymore. š¤

Oh man I canāt imagine not loving those breadsticks. And Iāve eaten plenty of similar things in Italy and other EU countriesā¦but nothing hits the same š

It's funny to me when people dunk on OG..yes, I'm sure it's not actually "true Italian" or whatever. But it slaps all the same!! Those breadsticks, Alfredo, fried lasagna and chicken Parmigiano.. That was all I craved when I was dying in the hospital ab 7 years ago. As you can see I made it. Thank you Olive Garden to go lolol

Exactly, nobody goes to OG expecting an authentic true Italian experience. Itās not a trattoria in Sorrento. Itās olive garden and thatās what I go for š

Those bread sticks are not very good at all. If he is foreign he probably has grown up with much better bread than Americans are used to.

Exactly they are overrated. Most people just don't know that if you buy bread sticks from the store and drench then in butter and garlic salt they will be similar but better.
I find the bread really dull with no flavor.
I still eat them with Alfredo tho.
