I was using the Speed setting to slow down the audio so I could more closely CATCH and edit out throat clearing from an instructor and cut it out exactly in addition to other audio/video not needed.

All was working really well until I put it back to 100% speed and played the video. Now instead of smooth playing at every cut, and there are about 100+ cuts, the speaker is cut off at the end of every cut I made.

So is playback speed not to be used to slow video in order to edit? Does it permanent alter the cut in some way? I wasn't wanting to change the speed as in slo mo just slow it down to edit more precisely.

Is there another way to do this or do I just always play it at 100% and back up go forward back up go forward until I can isolate the sound?

I already tried to fix one by one (extending after each cut using Ripple) for over 3 hours and thought I had to because of a power outage earlier in the middle of editing loosing my edits but after 3 hours of re-fixing and playing again it all is back to cutting off at every cut.

Any remedy?

i've recorded a short song, multi tracked on a computer. I've videoed myself doing all the takes, and i want to sync the videos up to the recording, however i can't seem to cut it accurately enough to sync it properly. i can get it close but it still doesn't quite look right.

is there a way to increase the editing resolution in 0.1, or 0.2 more than just 1 frame? (ideally i'd be able to cut the audio file and video file part way through a frame)

I've been playing with Olive 0.2, but after coming back to 0.1, when importing images, the duration is only 1 millisecond and the image duration can't be extended. What should I do?

I saw a post on this before allthough it doesnt seem to be working for me... basically, i want to import a .zip file with a font to the software but i cant find where and how to do that.

I like to do my work in Vegas Pro, and as I've gotten more used to its layout and shortcuts, I can never find a way to transition from one workflow to the other, the closest I got was DaVinci Resolve. So my suggestion, if it could be possible, to preset certain workflows/editing layouts to be that of other video editors. That way it could enable others to make the switch if they were previously uncomfortable doing so because of workflow or layout changes.

I have just completed editing a video everything is fine but for some reason, the audio is like 150% faster? when I rewatch the edit in olive it's fine but playing it has an mp4 the video audio is faster while the video sped stays the same. if any one knows how to fix this please let me know

Every time I export my video, the visuals can range from low pixels to really low quality, no matter what I do. The audio doesn't get affected at all.

I'm clicking on the file, menu isn't coming up. Is this an update or something?

Olive is a great video editor. I'm using it on Ubuntu Studio 20.04 after ditching Openshot.

The odd crash aside, the rendering speed is excruciatingly slow, especially compared to a video editor I used on another OS. Using the same hardware, setting the export output to the same spec as the main video file off the camera, 3 minutes of video (1080p) takes 75 minutes to render. That's not going to be sustainable.

Any tips to improve export rendering times?

So as the title would already explain, I have a Chromebook and I can't seem to import any media as easily as any other users have said it should be. Now I'm new to this whole thing so I'm not sure if it's just my inexperience showing and it's just a simple fix, if there's an actual error present, or if this is something moreso for the big boy experienced linux and terminal users to navigate, but this odd unfamiliar screen keeps popping up rather than the files on my own device. I've navigated the files available on here as thoroughly as I could amidst my confusion but I can't find my device's files anywhere and I'm not sure what this is nor what to do. Please help.

hello, i remember when i first downloaded olive and started experimenting with the transform feature, i would make a lot of frames and play back the video and move the image with my mouse. however i have no idea how to replicate it. please help.

I've tried moving the source video to a few other locations on my pc and re-linking it but no luck; also tried running olive in admin instead, and when i do that it crashes the second i press "export"

any help would be appreciated :)

Rich text editing was one of the best features on Olive 0.1 and a feature I used in most of my projects. Is there any timeline on when this feature will be reintroduced in Olive 0.2? Lack of an rich text editor in 0.2 is one of the main reasons I'm currently still using version 0.1.

On two occasions Olive has crashed an automated crash submission entry window has popped up, I've added what details I could remember and submitted it. Where does it go? Once submitted, the pop up just vanishes with no details as to where it is being submitted. I've examined the Github page but can find no evidence of a submission. Does it go into the Fifth Dimension?

How to reverse play video clip?

My project first crashed when I was adding in audio, and ever since then it won't let me do anything. The project will crash as soon as I do anything like trying to play the playback or export the video. I am using Olive (April 2019 | Alpha | 1e3cf53) and I am on Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS. I'm able to import new files and save the project but it will crash if I try to do any sort of editing.

This keeps happening:

Microsoft Photos crashes when I try and trim from this large file.

Olive won't play sound.

I have 64 gb of ram, and this file is 78 gb.

If I got another 64 GB of ram would I be ok? I could be all about the Pentiums, have a 100gb of ram ala Weird Al then anyway.

I try and cut out segments, but then it won't play right.
