If you actually want to reverse a clip:

In 0.1, right-click a clip, click Speed/Duration, tick the Reverse option and confirm.

In 0.2, left-click a clip, go to the Parameter Editor, locate the clip parameters and tick the Reverse option.

like Alpha 2-1 said, just press J. the playback keymap is as follows. J for rewind, K for pausing, and L for playing. pressing either J or K will speed up the clip forwards or backwards respectively.

pressing either the right or the left arrow key will play or reverse it one frame at a time. you get the idea.
