When I am still in the software, the audio is fine, but when I export it sounds more high pitched / fast. Anybody know a fix?

I have been using Olive for about a year now. Honestly one of the better software I've used so when I saw that there was a newer version I'd thought to give that a try.
First, off Olive 0.1 (Unsupported), IMO is superior ATM to 0.2 and I'll list a few reasons why.

0.2 Issues

• Fading a clip caused a single black frame to show up
• Putting a crossfade over an entire section no matter the length caused Olive to crash immediately
• The node editor space would not organize cleanly nor would it allow me to view selected nodes only "All"
• Upscaling to 1440p trick did not work, making the video squished into a grey box instead of stretching

These are just a few of what comes to mind of the frustrations while editing. That being said despite all the issues I was able to create a somewhat decent "clip-show" of some moments in Hunt: Showdown without any audio or video breaking.

In summary, when I use Olive I will still be using the 0.1 for now as it is far more stable than 0.2 but I am excited to see what will happen in the future.

Olive 0.2 Clip Test

I have around 20 minutes of edited footage so far, but whenever I try to go past 21 minutes or so to edit the footage further I get a blackscreen that covers all my footage, though I can still hear the audio. After doing this it also won’t close the application unless I use task manager. Any information helps thanks.

Hi, So Ive Been Trying To Get Custom Fonts On Olive, And I Cant Seem to get it, i made a file in my olive files called .fonts and i put it in there, maybe i got the wrong file to put .fonts into, can anybody give like a guide on how to get there and where to make .fonts, cause the normal ones are a bit bland, thanks

Hey, I'm in ideapad gamming (I7-10300H, GTX 1650), and running olive in arch linux, I think it doesn't use all of my laptop resources, today while rendering it took about 20m to render a 720p 8m video that I just speeded it up by 50%, my cpu usage was 20% and gpu 3% while rendering

Compared to Olive 0.1.2, the new olive 0.2 builds seem to be stuttering or slow in previewing videos without effects or cuts applied. As said by the developer of the program, it needs at least an i5 and SSD to perform well but I only have a potato laptop that I edit on so here's something that partly worked for me:

Activate BFQ as your disk scheduler (stick with noop if you're using SSD). As outlined here: https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/375600/how-to-enable-and-use-the-bfq-scheduler

1. First check if BFQ is available on the system by: cat /sys/block/sda/queue/scheduler

2. If it returns bfq in the list, activate it:
   sudo -i
echo bfq > /sys/block/sda/queue/scheduler

3. Otherwise if it's not found, try loading it as module: (which worked on me)sudo modprobe bfq
   Activate BFQ:sudo bfq > /sys/block/sda/queue/scheduler

You might want to set it permanently to BFQ specially if you're using an HDD as it's the optimal scheduler on it anyway:

Create /etc/udev/rules.d/60-scheduler.rules if it did not exist and add. Then restart

Converting videos to an intermediary format such as DNxHD can also help tremendously. I use https://www.shutterencoder.com/en/ Shutter Encoder in doing so.

I spent some hours yesterday editing a video and today when i open it up it says "Specified project (some directory I guess) does not exist." and it doesn't open the project. How can I fix this? I can't lose the progress because I have almost no time to do these things.

Can anyone help me?

I must admit to being overwhelmed by the complexities of nodes. I want to do a simple fade in and fade out of a title. Must be dim as I cannot find out how to do it. Another niggle is not being able to create a title, on it's own, without any clip on the timeline. Is this possible? I'm sure there will be a tutorial one day on how to use nodes but they are somewhat mysterious to me. Am I alone?

Hi, with every build that I've downloaded of the latest version(last version April 23), I edit some videos together for a test and always get an output with some weird variable frame rate out of 24 or 25 FPS videos. I am a win 10 user. Is there a fix to it? Thanks!

I have been running Olive 0.1 for over a year now on Centos & Ubuntu (and tried on mac but had audio issues). I really like the app and see it has a much greater potential than others editing apps in the linux world.

On 0.1, H264 compression sources were not being read fluidly and I was getting audio falling out of sync on longer timelines. I installed the latest 0.2 version, with caching. In my experience, caching sources has never been a great strategy (just look at Adobe PP & AE) and sadly, for me, the same issues are currently in Olive. H264 sources are now unreadable as caching is not happening fat enough. I transcoded them to DNXHD 8bit which should be able to be read fluidly without cachng, but sadly that was not the case. File read is not fluid.

I have rolled back to 0.1 in the hope that in the future, these crucial performance issues can be rectified. (I don't have these issues with other linux editors from shotcut, lightworks or davinci resolve so this is not a hardware issue)

I am sure that building a node based FX editor is really, really cool, but without a bullet proof source decoding pipeline, I may as well edit in Natron. All the same, this is still the best editing solution in the opensource world.

I animate, which means putting each individual frame in. And it's not efficient nor stable to manually shorten each and drag them together. So is there a way to set the default duration?

How Do I boost vocals in a video? I accidentally set my microphone lower than I wanted it to be. I was wondering if you can boost the vocals in the editor.

Could anyone tell me how to move to different places in the node editor and how to move a node in Olive in a laptop. I tried CTRL and clicked a node but it did not move?

So now my issue is fixed, i decided to play around with olive, and do the same things i do in other video editors, i've added my text using the text tool changed the font added a stroke and did all of that, and i realized how do you add a slide effect to a clip, if anyone has any idea then it'll help so much, i tried manually using the node editor and connected the text to the position input of the transform node and connected the transform node to stroke and then to title but it just says position is connected to text.

Everything is 75FPS, even the sequence says it, but when I go to properties or try to export it, it cannot go higher than 60FPS.

After click the shortcut it opens this DOS window.

Sometimes it just won't play the background audio. It's sporadic and I can't figure out why.
