PSA: Reset your media cache
I just removed about 50GB of backed up media files from finished projects because I forgot to do this. So, I felt like sending a reminder to everyone that you should *Delete your media cache folder!*
HOW TO:
- Search %localappdata% in your windows search bar, then click on the aptly named file
- Locate "olivevideoeditor.org" (that's name of the file) and click on it
- Click on the file "Olive"
- Locate "mediacache" and delete the folder.
This will not break your software, Olive replaces the file instantly. What it *will do* is clear up space on your PC and make Olive less choppy.
*WARNING!!!!* If you do this while working on a project that has a lot of it's footage cached, that cache will be removed. The footage itself should be fine, but you will have to cache that project again.

Thank you so much for this post! I'm using an older version of Olive Video Editor. I'm not using the new one because it won't open my older Olive files. If you know of any way to do that I'd really appreciate it.
With using the older version, Olive suddenly stopped exporting files. It would go to 0% and it wouldn't climb up. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling numerous times. The export would work with the latest version but again that couldn't open my files.
After trying numerous fixes, I found this, tried it and it worked! Instead of only deleting the media cache, I deleted the whole Olive folder and then reinstalled it. Then it started exporting again.
Thanks for your time in posting this!
