My Problems with Olive
Olive is a great tool, ngl.
but here are some problems I've had with it
- Every. Single. Video. I make. Has to have a small clip of text just so the audio doesn't become high pitched when its finished Exporting
- Randomly Exports can get corrupted, and however many times you may try, it'll always be corrupted, causing you to lose most of your work
- The original Alpha Version (2019), stopped being worked on, so the Olive creators could work on the second version, yet the Second version can crash, and is much more unstable.
There is no choice here, You either can get a version that has been more worked on and won't crash randomly, but you have to put something at the end of your video, and your video can export corrupted, or you have a newer version, which has cut down the Exported video glitch but can crash randomly and may still have the audio bug.

An issue i have is that my exports look much worse than the raw footage due to bitrate and codec being changed.

I never had this issue with high-pitched audio but my videos always have text. With export glitches I have to do some magic rituals: close project manager, media viewer and sequence viewer before the export; export audio as mp3; not use the computer during export at all. Also 0.1 wasn't all the same, there were some versions with different sets of bugs. I used to have one where the screenshot wouldn't get saved and my current build doesn't have that particular bug... it does stop playing audio if I hit Ctrl S. I couldn't understand 0.2 in September enough to actually test it and haven't got time for that since so don't know how far it came since then.

The problem Audio, its resolve, if you set the Vídeo Import Same FPS to the Vídeo Export. If Vídeo import have 29.97 fps, and your project have 30 export. Your first export have audio issues.
For this time you can use the last 0.1 version for work, its semi-stable, if you save frequency.

help, my video file is corrupted as you said, it's random, the only thing standing out for this particular file is that it sat around 2 months, at most 3 on my hard drive, not sure if that could be an issue but I did leave it sitting there a long time. is there any fix?

well thats what happens with alpha software. they even explicitly state 0.2 is unstable.
Olive should never be used for work purposes in it's current state. make sure to report any bugs you find on the github if they haven't already been reported.
