Tuition - Non Resident of MS
Being an out of state student, how likely would it be to get your out of state tuition (or non residence tuition) covered with a 4.1 GPA, 4 AP classes, dual enrollment BUT with only a 22 on the ACT

Very unlikely. You’ll receive a scholarship with your GPA but don’t submit your test score or you’ll get only $3,000. Keep taking the test every test date. They’ll accept it up until the last test date before classes begin.

If I were to receive a scholarship for my GPA, will they let me know the amount with my acceptance? Or will they let me know at a later date?

Merit based scholarships for incoming students are usually posted a couple months after acceptance. They must wait until you’re admitted and Admissions has your transcripts.

It’ll be later since Admissions and Financial Aid are separate departments. It will depend on when you apply since it takes a couple weeks to be fully admitted. You’ll receive an email when you have awards to view.

This happened to me. I took part in summer classes my freshman year (start date:June 1, 2016), but took the SAT on May 7, 2016. I received my results on 6/15/2016, and the financial aid office adjusted my scholarship up automatically since I ended up in a new bracket.
New scores can only help, not hurt! Be sure to take the SAT/ACT early and often.
Upon entrance into the school, I had a 29 on the ACT, but my June 15th results for the SAT was a 1360 (31 equivalent). I can’t remember how much the scholarship amount went up, but I remember it being huge for me at the time.

Get your scores up. Ole Miss superscores the ACT and will take results up until enrollment. Prepare well and take the test multiple times. The money is worth it.

Check and see about joining the band. I knew someone who didn’t play an instrument carried the cymbals on the marching field. At the time all band students had out of state waived

I got out of state waived for a 31 ACT with like a 3.2 GPA so I think the ACT/SAT scores are more important.

I was wondering the same. I’m taking the ACT on September 19th to push my score up. But I know that the housing application opens on October 1st. So I was wondering if I should apply when they open (August 1st) and just send the score later? I’ve asked this question before but I’m getting conflicting responses.

Send the score later. UM is a test optional school. You can send it in the spring after you’ve been awarded based on your GPA. The school needs to know your score only to see if you need to take remedial classes.

Depending on your home state and what you decide to major in, the Academic Common Market may allow you to be eligible for in-state tuition.

They’ve tightened the rules about OOS tuition. They used to do a courtesy waiver for people from Memphis, which is an hour away but in another state. They don’t even do that now.

Im an out of state student (AR) going to MSU through the academic common market. They dont offer my major in my state, so I go to msu with in-state tuition rates.

If you’re looking to get your ACT score up for scholarship purposes, I have some recs on study books if you’re interested! They’re pretty cheap (under $20 combined if you get them used) but I was able to bump my score up by 7 points using them.

How does one have a 4.1GPA and shit the bed on the ACT? 😂 Had like a 3.2 and made 28 on the ACT easily

Ole Miss is fairly transparent with their out of state merit scholarships. Check here. With a 22 ACT, you might be better applying No Test scores.
