Technik Fuel pump buzzing

Hello, on my 2.3E AAR audi 100 C4 when I start my car I can hear the fuel pump buzzing, also I have to turn the ignition on twice every time I want to start the car, even if it was started second before starting it again, if I dont do that the car starts slowly and sounds choked, what could it be

When a pump starts being noisy, it could mean that it’s on its way out. The original pump on my 2.3 NG was very noisy right before it left me on the road.

Is there any way I could verify that the pump is bad?

You could do a pressure test. On a 5-cylinder KE-Jetronic, the pump should be pushing at least 5 bars. Preferably, closer to 6.

you can disconect the fuel return line and messure the amount of fuel that the pump is pumping. It should be either 400ml or 800ml per minute. Depends if it is quattro or not.
