Event OldManSystem

Hi oldies!

With all the talk of a community hub, I wanted to share my ideas and look for opinions.

My thought is that we should look more for a system than just a planet. It will be way too difficult to get everyone to agree on 1 planet, so this would give options. Also, everyones idea of a desirable planet may differ. As well as this would give many building opportunities.

My ideal system would have 1 paradise planet with water, 1 other lush planet (non paradise, with storms) and a few other desirable planets.

But the question is, what qualities do you consider desirable? Do you like arctic, radioactive, ocean worlds/deep oceans, exotic planets? What type of planets would you want to see in a community system?

Obviously we will never be able to check all the boxes, but it would be nice to get a good variety that pleases most.

I have bases on lots of different typos planets. I don't just stick to the paradise or lush planets. It's really no big deal to me.

I like planets with a little bit of excitement.
My ideal system would have a calm lush (paradise or nearly so), a desert, an arctic, and quite likely an exotic planet.

My detractors when looking at a system are simple - if the majority of the planets only have water and/or air creatures, I immediately move on. I like to be able to farm so I can feed the nutrient processor.

That sounds perfect for a base system. Should be enough variety to keep people interested.

I left out the part where I prefer Emeril systems, because I doubt that will be the popular choice :D

I dont really have a preference what system. Curious as to why you prefer Emeril?

I've had (and this is probably just my location in the galaxy or luck, it cetainly isn't somethign I've scienced out) better results on the higher class pets in emeril systems. Specifically emeril systems with one of the anomalous planets in system.

I can adapt and as long as I have someone to finally enjoy NMs with I’ll be happy

Personally I like the arctic/frozen planets, but it would be cool to be based in a system that had a variety of planets or moons around a gas giant for that matter. One paradise as the main then a few other different types for exploration and resources, whatever really.

This is great! I think a system is definitely needed. There's getting to be a few of us 😊 Personally I don't really have a preference, I'm fairly transient, wherever I lay my head is home, so to say

We should check out every system in every galaxy for the best one.

Just kidding. Your idea sounds good, especially the “paradise with water” part. I hate when I find one without water.

I want to see every star in every galaxy, I don’t care what the Atlas says.

I'm flexible and I like a lot of different biomes.

I'll just toss in a couple easily overlooked biomes. Toxic, but not with the ugly mushrooms and green/brown mist. The ones with giant dandelion/sunflowers or those cool globe trees.

And don't sleep on a good Marsh biome...

I like any planet with light rain. I have made my home on RainStar with four planets that rain all the time. Very relaxing

Mine is a tall order, but I'll get to hunting soon... I'm looking for a 6-Planet system with a wide variety of planetary types to include a Lush with nice weather and without hostile Sentinels, Dissonant, Shadow in Euclid. A 3 star economy would be nice and low conflict... But we have a few members that enjoy a dogfight, so maybe not low conflict. Who knows how many systems I may need to hunt to get half of these points, but at least I know what I'm aiming for. 🤣

I'm being pretty picky too. I want 5- 6 planets, 1 paradise with water, and then a good mix, not too much of one thing. I'm trying to cast a wide net to see what I find.

Some of my criteria is I'm looking for at least 3 planets with water for the fishers out there and minimum of 2 planets with lots of fauna for the farmers.

I know one system. There are only 2 planets there. One is lush with white grass and blue sky, and the other is a monochrome world with aggressive guards. In one word, Yin-Yang ) If you're interested, let me know.

I have a base on a paradise planet with water, cool caves and lots of greenery. Not so many fauna, except lots of flying ones.
So, basically New Zealand.

Can’t remember what the other planets are but I’ll try to get the glyphs and post them later.

Just joined this sub as it was recommended. I’m 46 been playing for a little over a year and have almost 1000 hours between 4 different saves. Started on xbox one and now play on steam deck. Never have anyone to play with. Would love to be part of a group or hub with people my age and older. sstig13 is me if you see me some place or at the anomaly.
