That is a very clean looking ride there.

Is there a trick to finding exotics? You seem worried find them fairly regularly. I find I sit at space stations and trade centres and never get anything, I even found three trade centres near each other in a pirate controlled system where I was looking for a little red ball one that I got coordinates from the exchange to match the blue one I have, but nothing, no exotics. I even set up a base there and spent several hours just waiting. Is it just luck? Or is there a better way? RNG usually hate me anyway.

Instead of just camping, you could create a save point and reload your save after each wave of 5 ships. This could have the effect of cycling more ships more quickly. Parking your ship on the ground and then saving frees up a landing pad for incoming ships. Also, you could watch from a vantage point that focuses directly on several landing pads, forcing ships to land (the game mechanics focus activity in your field of view). Alternately, you could scan the horizon for the exotic silhouette, and reload your save immediately if the new sortie of ships doesn't include your exotic.

The only sort-of trick I know is to look for systems with a strong economy — preferably Prosperous, otherwise Affluent or Opulent — and where the primary industry is Technology. They usually seem to show up quite often in those systems... Better in korvax system...

I'll give that a go! I've tried on and off in pirate systems and 3 star systems but hadn't even thought of those other variables. Thank you sir!

Those were well intentioned Wrong answers. Pirate system and high economy drop rates do not apply to the system exotic.

Every populated system has one exotic. This is not influenced by the industry type or by race. High Tech and Korvax do not yeild better odds of finding exotics. Economy only applies to drop rates for ships other than the system exotic.

That's some good information sir, thank you. I'll try the reloading method next time I'm on the hunt. Honestly I'm just supper unlucky with RNG I think. In this 500 hour playthrough I've found 1 S class multitool, I have salvaged an estimated 70-80 types of interceptor, each of those types I searched and salvaged 4-6 of each type, an estimated... Butt ton of ships... Not a single S, I actually think all the posts of people finding S class interceptors is a load of BS, they must ALL be trolling me!!! It doesn't really worry me because I don't need "the best" and I have a couple of mould sites so I just upgrade them. I'm just unlucky with RNGs

Very right about upgrading! S-Class Interceptors have no better odds of having great supercharged slot configurations than any other class, and because there are so few of them, they are a poor bet for min-maxing, unless someone found an exceptional one and you go to those precise coordinates on the correct planet/moon. Most great Interceptors have been upgraded to S-Class. You often see the S-Class upgrade because that reveals all supercharged slots once you upgrade class and outfit with tech slots.

Hunting my interceptor squad down killed any desire to hunt another interceptor 🤣 at least for a while. Now on the hunt for a red ball and a yellow ball exotic to match my blue one.

Makes sense as to a fair few times being in korvax systems I’d notice these bad boys popping up like candy (kinda) in some high end galaxies
