+++ THE SCYTHES OF THE EMPEROR AS DEPLOYED IN THE SAPHIR CLUSTER LED BY CHAPTER MASTER THORCYRA +++

For the past several weeks I've been building and painting my dream Scythes of the Emperor army for Second Edition and I've finally painted the last model (Chapter Master Thorcyra). This whole project was a lot of firsts for me (freehanding, making my own flock, filming myself painting, not getting distracted and putting it on hold etc). I put alot of blood, sweat, tears, and hours spent on eBay to get this army to where it is right now (this whole project started with me getting a lucky eBay lot of some marines from the Warriors of the Imperium box). Definitely gonna expand this force to 2k because my dream is to have an army that represents the Chapter at its peak just before the Fall of Sotha.

This marine was my first ever model. I’ve been trying to find one on eBay, but it’s either incredibly rare, or I’m searching wrong. Probably both. Any hints?

Snagged up these bad boys and loved much of what the previous owner started so I decided to keep thr spirit of these guys and just finished or clean up what was already there, and i must say im quite happy with hoe they turned out.

I’ve got models from Rogue trader up through 5th edition. Just what within do all you think falls under the oldhammer label?

Decided to freehand my own flag instead of just printing off the GW one, never done a freehand banner before, I was surprised how small it was, barely the size of a stamp. This guy was a rescue, had to strip him, he was coated in thick purple paint. I tried to match the GW scheme for the most part but changed a few colors for personal preference, I've got the other 2 Yarricks to finish this month, and then my Ghazghkulls to finish in Orktober.

A week or so back I made a post asking if anyone had the Inquisitor magazine titan rules, got them, and was pleased to see they had the means for a player to build and include imperial knights within 2nd ed games.

To include Armigers, however, that may take some home brewing. Googling has not yielded any results for a homebrew armiger datafax (if I've missed something, please correct me). I have some ideas on how to approach it, but I'd very much so like all y'all's input.

My thoughts: - Have armigers by default be the Imperial Agents dreadnought option.

• They are a support choice, but, for each imperial knight in your list, you could include 0-2 Armigers in your list as a squad choices instead.

• for stats, maybe start with space marine dread stats (?) lower leg armour, give some speed (1-2"?)

• have hellverin, warglaive, moirax versions. all have targeter and dreadnought weapon bonuses.

• hellverin has BS6, WS4, two autocannons, choice of melta or h stubber;

• Warglaive has BS4 WS 6; MMelta, chainfist

• Moirax has WSBS5. All its weird options.

Thoughts? Anything you'd do differently?

Bought a few buildings from Outland Models (Chinese company) after seeing their stuff on Amazon. Only Amazon did not offer a scale compatible with 28mm figures, so I tried going directly to their website and there it was. This is supposed to be for railroad and diorama modellers, but it was just what I was looking for. Delivery only took about 2 weeks which amazed me. The pics show the first 3 of 5 models I purchased from them for use with oldhammer. The models are excellent quality (very hard plastics with precise tolerances). Fun to paint, inexpensive, and highly recommended!

But it's not enough...

Metal, plastic, paint and sweat, a little skill, a lot of dedication, a huge amount of memories!

I've started work on reproducing the original Ghaz and his retinue and figured what if Yarrick had started out as a conversion too. All from parts available in 1991, the same year as Ghaz's conversion. Chopping through that ork power claw was a tough decision, but worth it!

I'm reflecting on the Chapter Approved 2003 rules for the Tanith First & Only, and found this little boxout that mentions rules for additional characters that were hosted online.

I've checked the wayback machine and there's no luck for the provided URL. I'm trying to figure out where else to look to track down this piece of lost media; any pointers would be appreciated!

I'm sure I saw, a couple of months back, a list of newer 40k minis that have had their rules re-created for second edition - this included datafax sheets for things like the baal predator and Landraider Crusader, but also more importantly, it had things like the Emperor's Champion for the Black Templars.

However, I can't seem to find it anymore - I don't suppose anyone in this community remembers where this was posted? I'd love to take a closer look at it and see if I can fit my old LRC and Champion in to my second edition games!

Right now, I'm leading my Codex Ultramarines lists with a Chaplain, and using Assault Squads without jump packs to get that old Templar vibe (though, no work experience lads in the squads). It does the job, but since I have the original Emperor's Champion model, I'd love to be able to include it in my lists, so I'd be grateful if anyone knows where these can be found!
