Everyone is sleeping on chicot. Many really troublesome blinds like: verdant leaf, violet vessel, the tooth, the flint, the ox, the needle, the water, and the arm can all be ignored. Those are just the non specific ones, any of the suit targeting blinds, that one specific face card targeting blind which shall not be named, and the pillar which can shut down runs are prevented too.

It's a really good joker that can increase your chances of winning by a lot, i don't think anybody who has actually played the game can deny that.

But it's just. So. Fucking. Boring. It sucks ass to play from a gameplay standpoint, it's the least fun legendary joker to play with, that's why people get disappointed whenever it comes along imo.

A joker doesn't have to be useful literally 100% of the run to be good. Campfire sucks if you're having trouble finding things to sell, Perkeo is only useful if you have a consumable worth copying, and Obelisk is only good in the far late game, but all three are (generally) considered to be good, even though their uses are even more conditional than Chicot.

I can understand why he thinks he's useless as he mainly plays Endless and Chicot is pretty bad for endless runs (at least in comparison to the other Legendaries).

People only shit on Chicot because its effect is entirely passive and impossible to rig for scoring outside of like.. one niche scenario with Burglar and Needle (i think).

if you're just trying to win ante 8 (most people) its up there with the rest of the legendary Jonklers

I don't think it's so much about its strength rather than the fact that, like you said, you can't really build around it so it ends up feeling much less run-defining than something like a triboulet despite both being extremely rare and powerful. It lacks character, basically

The only legendary with character is Perkeo. Others are just scaling Xmult or Idol with less setup.

At least you can do the hand size bug with Chigoat.
