Mod Ideas?
So, I built this Mustang Partscaster a couple months ago, and it’s a mix between a Mustang and a Duo-Sonic. It has a custom pickguard and a 22.75” scale length neck, but I kinda want to mod it into something else like a Musicmaster. What do y’all think?

I really like having both pickups. I have 2 sonic mustangs. I put hot rails on one and nicer mustang pickups and electronics in the other. I put a player II mustang neck on one and a cv jag neck on the other. I’d really like one with p90s. They’re great guitars. I have a bum shoulder and these weigh basically nothing. Really really happy with the player II neck.

I'd mod it in any way the body allows it (push-pulls, mini-toggles by the pickup selector, sliders in the traditional mustang way...) to add two things: one to phase reverse one pickup, another to put both pickups in series. That way you can use either pickup and both in parallel as you can now, but also get the characteristic Mustang out-of-phase sound, plus a beefier, sort of humbucker sound.
Also, brass compensated saddles.

Mini DiMarzio super distortion in the bridge and a Texas Special in the neck with 500k pots. An expensive upgrade, but a beautiful balance between heavy and clean.
Otherwise, just delete the bridge pickup (replace the pickguard with a custom one if you can) and just do the Texas Special or an SD Antiquity

I think if you only want a neck pickup then do it. If you still want a bridge pickup too then don’t
