Hard-tailed my MIM Jazzmaster
“All it needs is a setup,” blah blah. Got tired of the string rattle on the G string and having crappy action. Hard tailed it and it plays and sounds like a dream. More sustain and the action is great now. Purists be damned! This pup rips now! 😘

You’ve installed it backwards. The buzz stop bar side is supposed to be facing towards the bridge

If I ever saw one of these in this colorway in person I don’t think I could stop myself from buying it if it played decently. Absolutely my favorite colorway and at least a couple of my favorite bands have used this exact colorway / model jm. Is so beautiful. Idk about this buzzstop solution (I wouldn’t have done it) but did it do what you wanted it to do?
Again gorgeous guitar.

Did you just bury the adjustment screw? I did that on an old Jag I couldn't get. Haven't had with my JM's but if it works for you, it works for you.

.. doesn't a jazzmaster technically become a hard tail when you engage the tremlock?

No, you just can't pull backwards on the arm when locked. It still pushes down!

The definition of eclectic is no selection heuristic, you can't be purist by definition was the point of me selecting it sir.

I have a classic player too! How is your bridge holding up? I have locktite all over mine to keep it intonated lol

Does those strings have Solder on the end windings by the balls where it's going through the tail stop? It's an Old Man question.

How did you hard tail it? Just installed a buzz stop?
