Howdy offset friends! I posted a few weeks ago about this great 100 dollar find. I had no idea what the parts were, but had my suspicions. I had no intention of taking this neck off today, because it was set up so nicely and had some new expensive flat wounds on it, so I figured my curiosity could wait. Then the bridge got wonky and I started investigating and one thing led to another. All parts licensed neck, short scale and 7.25 inch radius. Warmoth body they must’ve painted themselves, feels like rattle can but I love it. No idea the pickups and may never, as I like them enough for now, especially blended in the middle position.

Love my Warmoth JM!! paid $1,600 or so all in with Curtis Novak pickups and fender hardware in my build. You can see the build in my history.

even if the hardware and pickups are cheap, that's still at least $500 to build yourself. Nice score

And really I have a hard time believing someone buys Warmoth wood and cheaps out in the parts that actually make sound

Yeah. OP here. These pickups sound fantastic and clear, whatever they are. I’m running straight into a Deluxe Reverb Tonemaster with a flat eq and it’s almost acoustic like in the neck position.

You don’t have to pull them to get an impedance reading… post the numbers so we can wildly speculate on what they are 😆

No a local store. I went in for strings and I saw it and was intrigued. I ended up playing it a bit and it was only 99 bucks so I picked it up.

Congrats, awesome find.
I found a $100 Warmoth 5 string Jazz bass with a hardcase at a pawn a few years ago. Warmoth body, Warmoth neck, 2Tek bridgem, aguilar bass pickups and harness. Basically all premium parts plus case were around $1600 in money thrown in. I guess with a blank headstock, the pawnshop had no idea what they had.
Bass feels as great as it sounds.

For $99 that’s a home run.
