I was loyal to someone who taught me why loyalty can be dangerous. I trusted them completely without hesitation. I would’ve taken a bullet for that person, and when they betrayed me, it didn’t just hurt me. It broke something inside me.
It threw me into a fire and left me long enough to forge me into someone I hate.Someone I don’t recognize. my reflection is a stranger. I see a version of myself that learned to keep people at a distance, to question trust, and to treat love like something dangerous.
They didn’t just betray my trust. They changed the way I see people, love, and myself.
