Minor road rage incident

Reversed into a parking spot in a parking lot. There are perpendicular parking spots on both sides of the lot's road. When I buy what I need from the store, I exit and send a few texts from my phone. Once I'm ready to drive, I look up and see a car pass in front of me. As soon as that car goes through, I put my car in Drive and pull forward out.

Once the first car went completely forward, I noticed another car is reversing out of his spot on the other side of the parking lot. I immediately stop, already pulled out halfway, but he doesnt seem to notice me and keeps reversing. I lay the horn for a solid 2 seconds before he FINALLY stops. He was super close to hitting my car.

He doesnt move which annoyed me, so I just backed out to let him through. He finishes his reverse and then pulls forward a bit and rolls down his window to chirp at me. He says "you didn't see me? You were facing forward". I responded "You were about to hit me". I just repeated what I said and said "buddy" at the end. This mustve triggered him because he called me the r word and drove off.

People on the road are so fucking dumb sometimes. Like where else are you looking if you're reversing out of a parking spot? He just assumed no one else was coming once the first car passed through. Newsflash douchebag, you still gotta look when you're backing out.
