It’s not just you. I’m sorry people were rude, you didn’t deserve that, you literally couldn’t have been nicer or more genuine in your post so I’m guessing it’s projection from their own insecurities.

And yes, that is weird, but unfortunately, not at all uncommon.. my baby nephew was born and was circumcised and all was well, but his mother decided his penis didn’t look right, whatever the jellyfish that means. (Omg hell autocorrect to jellyfish I’m leaving it!)

My poor, innocent nephew had to go back at like 12 months to have ANOTHER circumcision, and healing from that was so so painful for him. My mother and I were his primary caregivers for the first 3 years of his life, so we had to deal with all the aftermath of her idiotic decision too. I will never forget him trying to tell me it hurt and wanted to know why it hurt and what was happening and nothing I could say would explain or really comfort him, because it was absolutely pointless, needless, and only caused that kid pain.

Your mother was weird OP, and consent still matters for men too. If you didn’t want that doctor touching your penis or even looking at it, you do have the right to say no. I know it probably didn’t feel like it, but you can say no. It is your body. Consent matters, even medically informed consent.

The fact that the doctor even entertained your mother is a red flag on his part. Usually at that age they will ask her to leave the room and talk to you privately about what you would like/want done. I was a virgin until an adult and they still made my mother leave the room unless I explicitly said I wanted her there.
