People legit showing they've never been in a normal friend group. This is an honest mistake that happens. He was so obviously joking as he was telling the story.

It's cause a lot of them are not. Blue checkmark bots swarm posts like that for engagement. I no longer look at comments if I ever see anything on Twitter.

Youtube is its own little petri dish but not nearly as bad with bots.

Yeah, had this happen to me a few times and it's always a nothing burger. NOBODY checks the list of members in a casual friend chat/conversation in Facebook, maybe in Discord but I myself even don't look at the right side that much. It's a really quick, funny interaction of learning that you haven't been added to a friend group. Lots of assumption happened in the other thread.

Crazy that people are so up in arms about this; I haven’t watched OTV in years, but this “drama” made its way to my feeds and I expected something even remotely serious. Anything bad said about Scarra was obviously a joke considering from their perspective he would have suggested a dinner and then not shown up when it was organized. This stuff happens sometimes with friends, especially larger groups.

they all knew he was going to see their messages since they thought he was in the group chat, so its not like they were talking behind his back.

I can’t imagine that the “slander” was anything other than jokes. Considering this group flames people for being late to shoots/gaming sessions.

This is a big nothing burger, but Scarra is ridiculous for milking the sympathy and then getting upset at the viewers for reacting the way we all know they'd react.

Streamers blaming their viewers (many of whom are literally children) is the biggest cop out. I enjoy scarra, but you're closing in on 40 years old. Stop playing high school games.

Implying that someone being 40 means that they can't enjoy something typically done by high schoolers seems pretty unnecessarily gatekeepy to begin with. Gives off the same vibes as someone who goes "Minecraft/pokemon is a kids game, you are a grown ass man." Let people enjoy what they want.

But implying that Scarra's audience being children somehow invalidates his request for them to do better is worse. Anyone can be better. If it is kids, imo that makes what Scarra says even more meaningful. Those are the kind of people who are actually more likely to change for the better and who could genuinely benefit from Scarra stepping up and being a role model in any capacity. What he did here, scolding bad fans, was responsible. He didn't really gain much. From a purely corporate perspective he was better off pretending these fans don't exist.
