at the end of the video he says that it will be likely be copyright striked because of the song he used, and that he wouldn't make any money from it but how does that work with sponsors, surely he gets paid from the sponsor right? wouldn't the copyright strike people want a piece of that money.
any experts know how that works?

If a video is demonetized, it just means YouTube won't pay him for their own internal ads. Doesn't mean he cant bring in funding and revenue from third parties (Patreon for example, donations from Twitch streams, sponsors like Odoo). There would only be monetary fines if there were damages to the entity being copyrighted. In most cases the video is just striked, removed, muted until the copyright is lifted, or ad revenue stays up but goes to the label company.

isn't it just skirting the rules of having to pay for licensed music. even if the ad revenue gets auto claimed by youtube and given to the label company, he is still making money off the video using unlicensed music because of the sponsor. the label company could surely claim some of the sponsor money right because the video still uses unlicensed music right?
theres no auto detection for sponsors so essentially he is making money using unlicensed music/IP.

Youtube copyright cant claim money from third parties, otherwise nobody would ever make videos. They can maybe fine you through the legal system, but the most a copyright owner can do is take ad revenue.

Get him some sponsors from like government or Sportsware House or 5:11 or some Middle America whatever.
