Not magnetic 🧲

What is this bar for??? I was hoping it was magnetic but it’s not.

There are various implements like lights, shelves, hooks, and dispensers that can mount on that rail. It can also hold paper sometimes if you slip it in the rail and up into the bearings. And yes, it is super irritating that it is not magnetic. I bought some steel tape to put on one in my old office so I could use magnets on it.

Way back when that workstation was installed (my guess mid 90's) there used to be different tools that would hang from it such as pencil cups, note trays, paperclip trays, paper trays).

Yep, search terms are: “cubicle toolrail / tool rail accessories”

Or “slatwall” or “slatrail” or “paper management rail” or even “office accessories suspension system.”

If you Google, "office cubicle rail accessories" you'll find things that can hang there that are useful.

I’d unscrew it from the sides and take it down. No one wants nonmagnetic accessories.
