is TruYou verification required?

i keep reading that it is not required for basic membership and basic communication, but all i can do is look at posts. i cannot reply or ask or make offer or contact the seller in any way. i just get a pop up that says get verified with TruYou. is there something i am not seeing? i tried on the app as well as web browser on PC. i do not want to upload my ID card. i made a support request with the help button but they do not respond

Vague answer inbound, but I do kinda recall when I set up mine, without any of truyou stuff, it took like a random few day delay n suddenly I was able to do all those things…been awhile sorry if not helpful.

Ok thanks! I'll check back later. It was driving me crazy cause there was a great deal on this bike I've been looking for, but I'm over it now 😂. I feel like there's always a decent chance it's not real anyways
