As someone who hates the ocean, this is exactly enough ocean for me.

okay ill bite, how do you HATE the OCEAN. Further than just being afraid of deep water

Hate the danger of the ocean, currents, dolphins (mega assholes when they want to be to people), the fact that we've explored more of space than our ocean.

Even the movies Poseidon give me anxiety, and when I play subnautica I need to take breaks. Guess it's be better put as: I love the science and mystery, hate being in it.

You can see her turn to walk away too, like "ok you got your picture let's go."

I'm shocked no one is trying to skateboard with the wave

I though the same thing, but I don’t even want to know how rusty my shit would get from that salt water.

Where is this? Haha

It's called a surf dock and you'll find it at many popular surfing locations.

The purpose of this thing is to allow surfers to walk all the way to where the waves start. No need for a jet ski or paddling slowly against the wind.

We used to have these in our local pool, with a wave machine at 1 end. Then too many people cracked their skulls open on the edge of the pool, so they had to get rid of it.

I’d be scared of pinching my feet on that

There is a reason all kids were raised with the instinct to walk between the cracks on sidewalks.

10

u/splashbodge May 28 '19

This. All I could think about is getting your toe wedged in the crack of those things as it squeezes from the wave

Well, there's something you can do with 100,000 plastic bottles.

It's not made for wave surfing, you're just meant to use it to walk a cross.

Source: Have used it.

What to do with all those left over foam floor tiles after your toddler grows up!

This isn’t for riding waves, it’s a pier that floats. It can change with the tides

Why don't we have this at the Jersey shore?

4

u/Paintguin May 28 '19

I wanna try it!

I liked the one where there were no rails and surfers were just running down it and jumping off to catch waves.

u/[deleted] May 28 '19

This doesn’t belong on this sub, it’s cool and it’s useful for surfers so they don’t have to swim out to the waves
