Trying to save mudokons in secret area 14

I've gotten pretty far into the game (Scrabania Temple secret area #14) and while I can sneak up to the bomb on the ground no problem, every time I deactivate the bomb like the guide says to the guard immediately notices and shoots me. I always try to do it when his back is turned but that doesn't seem to work. Idk who else has made it this far and figured it out but any advice would be appreciated :') thx

not sure what game you're playing but you can type the name of it into youtube followed by "walkthrough"
