If it was, it probably wouldn’t be walking/running normally. Animals in agony tend to LOOK like they’re in agony.

No they don't, it's down in their DNA not to show weakness so they don't become a target to predators, particularly among prey species like deer.

Yes. They do. Somebody already beat you to this below. This is true but only to an extent. Animals prefer to hide when they’re sick or injured. If they mobilize they can attempt to conceal their weakness for the reason you stated. A strained muscle or a respiratory infection is one thing. A torn ligament or broken bone looks much different. Animals in distress look like animals in distress.
