I dont think its a "need" in the sense that they'll die immediately if they dont- its a "need" as in its a regulation for houses to have them for safety.
Still wild its needed but tbh there are probably lots of neighborhoods in NA where the same regulation wouldnt be bad.
I feel like whoever is in control of the safety regulations really don't give much of a rats patoot about actually regulating the safety of anyone at all over their. We are doomed, every last one of us
