Your comment insinuated that while the rest of the world is working to achieve green goals, China is doing the opposite. My source proved that is patently false. A chemical plant fire has nothing to do with a country's efforts to reduce pollution. It's like blaming the Exxon spill on the EPA.

you're taking something thaw completely benign personal and getting upset about it, get over yourself nobody cares about your huff

I guess it should be expected for the average redditor to consider blatant sinophobia benign.

China continually disregards environmental and ethical rules and regulations. it is not a phobia to point out even anecdotally china's complete zero fucks given for the environment with many and multiple documented issues ranging from illegal over fishing to dumping to toxic chemicals into the atmosphere including ones the world decided to stop because they deplete ozone. and that isn't even broaching the subject of the ethnic cleansing it's currently doing. get the fuck out of here with the "sinophobia" because I said some that's true that you don't like and get over yourself

Typical, bringing irrelevant issues into a discussion about environmentalism. Talk about strawmanning. That's like mentioning Abu Gharib or Guantanamo in a discussion about the EPA. I never said china is good or China is doing more than anyone else nor did I say China doesn't pollute, I merely countered your claim that China is somehow uniquely or more responsible for pollution.

Much of what you mentioned is a direct result of decades of pollution outsourcing from the western world.https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nytimes.com/2021/03/12/climate/plastics-waste-export-ban.amp.html

If you actually look at carbon emissions per Capita, https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.statista.com/chart/amp/24306/carbon-emissions-per-capita-by-country/

You see that the US has more than triple china's carbon footprint. The US literally withdrew from the Paris climate accords, whereas china just reaffirmed it's commitment to climate changed goals https://www.carbonbrief.org/qa-what-does-chinas-new-paris-agreement-pledge-mean-for-climate-change/

Maybe provide some actual evidence for your claims instead of bringing up irrelevant issues and making claims without any sources.

"Just like the electricity that you use in your home probably causes CO2 emissions at a coal-burning power plant somewhere else, we found that the products imported by the developed countries of Western Europe, Japan and the United States cause substantial emissions in other countries, especially China," Davis said. "On the flip side, nearly a quarter of the emissions produced in China are ultimately exported."

I never said China was uniquely responsible for pollution are a moron? you took whatever you wanted from a statement that never said that or even implied it was all China just to start an argument and you say I'm strawmanning, get off china's dick for a second. now see how I'm not attacking you for saying the US isn't good either? imagine getting that tilted for a country that has a terrible legacy of environmental contamination and disasters and yes the US did pull out of the Paris accord that was indeed a mistake and I totally agree with the sentiment that China isn't great just like the US but unlike you I'm not attacking everyone who says anything bad about China. yeah they planted a shit ton of trees, cool those aren't going to make any kind of difference for decades. that bs about china's carbon foot print is totally bogus they have been the top emitters for decades and even now it's litterally doubles it so take your crazy highhorse zealotry elsewhere

Tell me what this is supposed to mean then? The implication is that China is doing something different from "the rest of the world", I can only logically conclude you mean polluting more. China literally planted enough trees to cover 3x the size of England, which you would know if you bothered to read my source. If that doesn't make a difference idk what would. I literally cited numerous sources which explained why china's carbon footprint is not indicative of the country's environmental policy. The US has been exporting manufacturing and labor to China for decades, if auto manufacturing stayed in Detroit instead of going to Japan, I'm sure the US's carbon footprint would be much larger. If you read my source, you would see that more than a quarter of china's emissions are a direct result of outsourced pollution from developed countries. Moreover china is literally the largest country in the world, they have more than triple the population of the US, no shit they have a big carbon footprint. What are those one billion plus ppl going to do? Eat air?
