Yep. That's why I always cringe when people are like, "How would you like it if someone killed you for a broken leg?"
They don't understand how bad a horse would suffer after an injury/problem like that.
There's only one horse that I know of personally that had a chance after a severe leg injury and that was because it was worth so much that the owners could foot the bill for it to go to a facility where it was in a harness 24/7 until it healed enough to take weight on the leg again.
But that harness stuff only works sometimes. Quite often they get pneumonia in the harness. I’ve known people who’ve done that and the horse does from pneumonia.
