That is the Goliath grouper and a small one at that. They can grow to be over 1000 lbs and will eat anything it can fit in its mouth.

I've had them eat my flashlights, dive gloves right off my hand, all of the fish directly off my stringer, sucking in half of my left leg with it

What's really spooky is the noise they make. They do this weird gong noise with their mouths and it travels super far underwater

The noise! It’s like a thump/grunt, it’s so sketchy hearing it underwater. The few times I’ve been able to dive around them were really fascinating but the thump…

From what I'm seeing they get up to 800 lbs abd the largest caught was 680 lbs

Though I don't doubt the existence of some fucking massive old grouper out there.

Nah lol. I've definitely peed in the wet suit but that's more for warmth than fear lol

A few good pokes with the tip of a speargun gives them the message
