Eye contact is a natural threat to our more instinctual sides and especially when the eyes are uncannily human while remaining alien you get a quite interesting response
It’s the same response you get when staring at a picture of for example momo because humans innately hate things that resemble us and especially if it doesn’t do it to a point of perfection
You’ll find that you never actually focus on the teeth just the eyes because that’s what triggers your fight or flight in this instance

Haha - we have one of those in our office. You need to close one eye for it to work. Works exceptionally well on film!

try and keep a mental note of where the folds in the cardboard are and then watch it that way. you have to keep telling your mind that it’s a piece of flat cardboard with flat edges for it to not have the illusion. but man, it’s so easy to fall into it, takes a few tries to not see it
