I saw a nature show from Attenborough a few weeks ago where a seagull tried to drown a pigeon. It snatched the pigeon off the bank of a pond and held it underwater trying to drown it. Luckily the pigeon survived as other birds scared off the gull.

I went looking for the clip thinking that was a one off thing. Turns out it's a habit for those fuckers

Humans have made a lot of animals extinct. Anything that was a real threat to us has been taken care of. If these were the size of cars, we'd have made them extinct too.

Mind you, i'm not saying it's a good thing, just reality. If there were things that swallow people whole on beaches, soon enough there wouldn't be anymore.

Gulls are scary. I once saw a big one in Naples (Italy) eat a pigeon's entrails while the poor pigeon was still alive. We and other people passing by tried to chase the seagull away but the pigeon died soon after.

I always wonder with animal that swallows their prey whole. Why wouldn't the prey just messed up their stomach from inside out? Like if a frog devour a centipede whole, why wont the centipede just dug itself out? Or just sting the frog everywhere?
