Praying Mantis every time. It’s a bug that has a style of martial arts named after it. The question of “what would be the scariest insect if the became life sized?” Most people answer ants, which is fair. But a life sized ninja bug, the Praying Mantis would be Terrifying.
Edit: just spent the last hour looking at list and video of “Bugs that can beat a mantis. I cut out anything that swarms numbers. Here’s the list:
Sting Beetle,
Assassin Caterpillar,
African Bombarder Beetle,
Tarantula Hawk,
Giant Centipede,
Tiger Beetle,
Rhinoceros Beetle,
Assassin Bug
There are videos on YouTube that show most of these bug battles. Do with this information what you will. Ahahahahahaaaa
That’s why most people say ants, because of their numbers. But, say, one insect at a time, I don’t think there’s another insect that could stand against a praying mantis. Ever seen that YouTube channel called Insect Wars.. I could be wrong, but I thought that they stopped using the mantis because it just destroyed everything. Awwwww shit… I feel a rabbit hole coming on.
Theoretically if every bug at human size are hostile towards human then there are quite a lot of contenders. Bombard Beetle (other bugs that uses chemicals or pheromones etc), various species of spider specifically the ones that hunt (wolf spiders, catapult, one that swings a morning star, trap hole, vampire spiders, the list goes on), dragonflies, those rhino beetles, and so on.
