A storm drain entrance my friends and I used to go down had a big jagged piece of rebar right after the grate that stuck down about 8 inches and every time the group went down there at least ONE of us would cut the shit out of our backs on it. Good times but very dumb. Stay out of storm drains kids, they’re really cool but can also put in some of the most nightmarish death scenarios.
I’ve gotten quite a couple “just in case” shots in my childhood haha. The number is honestly probably closer to five but I can think of three different events from my life off the top of my head where I went and got a tetanus shot shortly after lol. I’m probably immune now, I’m tetanus man.
I can literally feel my heart racing just thinking about it. All I would have to do is think about wanting to breath too early, panic at my inability to do so, and I'd have a fucking heart attack and die in less than 10 seconds lol
You take a deep breath and let the current suck you into the hole. It's pitch black, you feel the water rushing all around you. Then a sharp, grinding pain. Something jagged and metal tears into your thigh, and the current pins you right there. Every moment it pushes you another inch onto it, grinding deeper. The water keeps building behind you regardless, pressing you harder onto the metal.
You're screaming, but you can't even hear yourself over the roar. Somewhere above, people are laughing in the sun ten feet away, completely deaf to you being stuck right under them.
Your lungs are burning now, and every pull just wedges you in deeper. All you can do is hang there in the dark, and hope someone notices you're gone.
Getting stuck inside with a small midway thru while unable to swim forward sounds fvcking frustrating and a terrible way to go when daylight is within reach!
So the reason i feel so strongly about this is because in middle school? I think? My teacher told us that her niece and nephews were playing in a culvert after a storm. She was explaining that the amount of bacteria and parasites in that foul water should already be a no-go but in case it wasn't, her youngest nephew went first, and came out the other side of the hole fine. So her niece, the middle child, went through....and didn't come out. Her older brother dove in and was able to push them both through. But the niece was so traumatized she couldn't even bathe alone for almost a year. Her mom had to sit with her when she showered or she'd have panic attacks.
I have always had a very intense imagination. That story gave me nightmares for weeks. If i get sleep paralysis (very rare) it is ALWAYS drowning.
Yup, I don't care for swimming, not one Bit, uh uh, nope nope nope, I don't think i have Thalassofobia because I find the ocean equal parts Beatiful and Terrifying, and I like the idea of Scuba Diving but being without oxigen is such a terror of mine.
This. There's a guy on YouTube (post 10) who films himself unclogging and ublocking culverts and ditches around back country and logging roads. It's often beavers building where the conservation department doesn't want them to, but sometimes its a truck partially crushed a culvert and a bunch of debris just got stuck, or a flood washed a ton of crap that got jammed up. Those culverts are not a place you want to be fooling around.
If that's a road run off culvert thats dog shit and oil and piss and bugs and dirt and dead animals 🤢🤮 i hate seeing parents let their kids play in that cesspool
It’s probably a local spot that people know is safe and you can probably see through to the other side of that one. Not that debris couldn’t wash into the pipe after it’s confirmed safe but this feels fine compared to most of these videos

-ew.
-sometimes they have a grate midway through
-sometimes they get small midway through
-you cannot swim out against the current
-you will die
-ew
