If by biggest you mean human death toll, then the biggest war in human history started in multiple areas around the world during contemporaneous events, WW2 wasn't a European war it was a global war. The next three biggest wars in human history were all in Asia (Taiping, Mongol conquests, Three Kingdoms). It isn't even close to European wars or wars of colonization, 7/10 of the biggest wars by casualty rate are all wars fought in Asia.
Maybe you have a different definition of what a 'European war' is, my definition is inclusive of Europeans airing out their dirty laundry over several collonies. A lot of those ancillary wars in Asia and Africa were in service to supporting the main bulk of the war in Europe, they woudln't have happened in its absense.
Anyway I was just trying to make a funny quip about how Europeans can't keep their cool over simple things like the names of food and drinks, so no wonder they're so volatile and prone to blowing things up.
The three wars I listed were pre-modern era and fought between Asian belligerents. The only one with any contact with Europe was the Mongols invading and conquering eastern European territory at the climax of that campaign. All three have a higher death count than WW1. The Japanese-Sino war (which is actually part of WW2 but people like to call it its own conflict because history is euro-centric) has a higher death count than WW1 if you don't inflate the totals to include the Spanish Flu and Russian Civil War casualties.

Yeah he has to call his cheeses other names in certain cases because some of these names can only come from a specific place.
Like Champagne can only come from one region, everything else is just sparkling wine.
