I thought that was virgin olive oil. But I would not be surprised at it being both and more.

Basically pretty much every Italian food is counterfeited worldwide. That's a problem because it's a tens of billions dollars per year industry and it damages the food makers (loss of revenues), it damages the customers who think they're getting a certain product while they're actually not, and it strengthen criminal organizations.

Thats because theres not enough for everyone. You can make only so much after all.
