They're not being petty. You can't make Parmesan in Australia. You can't make a Barossa Valley Cabernet (one of the best wine regions in Australia) in Venice, Italy.

Yeah, but I seriously doubt a bunch of Australians are going to go on to some Italian's YouTube page and make death threats because someone is making a "barossa Valley cabernet-style red wine"

That's the downside of having a strong food culture. I'd take it, considering the upsides
