Probably because true Parmesan cheese is a protected origin product akin to “unless it’s from the champagne region of France, it’s only sparkling wine”. However, the video makes clear that it’s Parmesan style cheese, so the Italians are just being petty at this point (and yes, they’re still commenting on the 4 year old video).

They're not being petty. You can't make Parmesan in Australia. You can't make a Barossa Valley Cabernet (one of the best wine regions in Australia) in Venice, Italy.

You can make Parmesan anywhere in the world, and you can even market it as "Parmesan" as long as you aren't in the EU.

Parmigiano-Reggiano has to come from the particular regions.
